✈  About us: We believe that aviation will only be electric in the next decades, and that we need to make this transition happen as soon as possible. Beyond Aero is a startup of 10 passionate people currently building a two-seater hydrogen powered flying aircraft demonstrator. Meanwhile, we are designing a business aircraft able to reach 1000 miles.

We are looking for the next 10 people who want to shape the future of aviation with us. One of them will be in charge of the aircraft hydrogen system architecture definition. You will work closely with the product department, the engineering team, partners, suppliers and regulations to co-develop the aircraft together.


✈   Subject: Lead the first Beyond Aero aircraft hydrogen system architecture definition

  • Technical ownership and delivery of Hybrid Hydrogen Fuel-Cell and Battery energy supply system from end-to-end. In particular, specification of requirements for fuel-cell, battery, and hydrogen tank in correspondence with aircraft mission.
  • Lead modelling and simulation of fuel-cell, battery, and hydrogen tank - as well as testing procedures to validate these models
  • Define structural requirements of fuel-cell housing, Hydrogen tank, and battery pack in correspondence with aircraft mission and CS-23 crashworthiness requirements.
  • Lead integration of Hydrogen system between other subsystems within powertrain
  • Lead systems and component level simulation and design of fuel-cell and hydrogen tank system
  • Lead systems and component level simulation and design of fuel-cell and hydrogen tank system
  • Participate in test requirement definitions for Hydrogen fuel-cell and tank system
  • Scope and engage with suppliers for hydrogen tank, fuel-cell, and battery according to the technical requirements of the project
  • Build out Hydrogen Systems team
  • Co-define safety requirements for Hydrogen systems with Testing Leads

Job Requirements

✈   About you:

  • Master’s Degree (or higher) in Aerospace, Energy, Chemistry, Engineering or any other directly relevant engineering field required
  • Experience doing innovation project development experience within process industries, industrial gas companies, Automotive industry (ie: CNG/H2)
  • Hands-on experience in design of high-power(>100kW) fuel-cells. Experience with batteries or pressure vessels a plus.
  • Leadership and excellent communication skills, team spirit, empathy and experience leading and empowering teams of engineers
  • Excellent understanding of general design principles and technical correlations
  • Curious, autonomous, ambitious and willing to break codes / An attraction for entrepreneurship
