Safety Engineer

✈   Subject: Lead the first Beyond Aero Safety Management System. Be part of the Airworthiness team to design the first Beyond Aero aircraft. You will report to the HO Airworthiness.

Your role will consist in:

• You will become accountable for the Safety Management System of the company and the corresponding documentation.
• Your will work in close collaboration with our engineering, manufacturing engineering and support& services communities, and will report to the HO Airworthiness.
• Develop, deploy and maintain a SMS (Safety Management System) compliant with regulatory requirements (EASA, ICAO, FAA, CAA ) ;
• Promote Safety culture inside Beyond Aero and through our suppliers/partners network
• Create and organize internal trainings related to the SMS
• Represent Beyond Aero in forums and working groups related to Aviation Safety
• Make recommendations to ensure best-in-class Safety features, on top of regulatory requirements
• Participate in Beyond Aero safety and airworthiness product governance
• Maintain monthly visibility reporting of issues seeking resolution and design solution progression.

Desired skills and qualifications

• Great team player and strong communication skills
• Strong Safety culture, that you want to promote and deploy in a new-born and fast-growing aerospace company
• 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role in the aerospace industry, with some experience in continuing airworthiness, incident investigation, product certification or reliability and safety.
• Master’s degree
• Experience with CS23 and in the setting of a SMS according to EASA requirements
• Ability to work in virtual teams
• Highly proficient in spoken and written English
• Capability to specify design requirements and influence design outcomes.
• Exposure to multiple engineering design disciplines (power plant, systems, structure) will be an asset.

Your location: You will be working at Beyond Aero office in Toulouse, France. Partial remote working is possible.
